BTTA Annual General Meeting, June 9


The BTTA AGM will be on June 9, 2025 in the amenity room. Registration opens at 6:30.

The executive roles are as follows?


President

  • Monitor BTTA email and facebook page for tenant issues

  • Prioritize tenant issues and bring them to the executive

  • Draft formal letters on behalf of tenants and advocate for them with management

  • Organize newsletters and other correspondence to tenants

  • Meet with management to discuss pressing issues

  • Chair executive meetings

  • Assist as needed with other executive functions (annual events, committees, etc)

  • Be a signing officer for the BTTA bank account



Vice President

  • Fill in as chair of executive meetings if President is absent

  • Bring tenant issues to the executive

  • Assist as needed with other executive functions (annual events, committees, etc)



Treasurer

  • Be responsible for the association’s finances

  • Provide reports for the executive as needed

  • Ensure an audit of finances is completed by an independent Trustee before the Annual General Meeting

  • Issue cheques as directed by the executive

  • Assist as needed with other executive functions (annual events, committees, etc)

  • Be a signing officer for the BTTA bank account



Secretary

  • Record executive meetings and distribute minutes for approval

  • Maintain a directory of executive members (names, contact information)

  • Assist as needed with other executive functions (annual events, committees, etc)



Building Representative

  • Attend monthly executive meetings

  • Hand-deliver BTTA correspondence to tenant members without email

  • Participate in membership week (solicit renewals in your building’s lobby during membership month with help from other tenants)

  • Issue membership cards to tenants as needed

  • Assist as needed with other executive functions (annual events, committees, etc)

  • Bring resident concerns to the executive (liason for their building)


Membership Chair

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of tenant members (names, address, contact information)

  • Keep membership information in a safe and secure way

  • Distribute tenant membership lists to building representatives and President as required (as new tenants join and/or memberships expire)

  • Assist as needed with other executive functions (annual events, committees, etc)
